Mission
The mission of the School of Biological Sciences is to promote student and faculty professional growth and development through the integration of teaching and research. The School of Biological Sciences contributes to the biological literacy of all students, advances biological knowledge, and is a resource for the state, region and nation.
Goals
Academic and research programs in the School of Biological Sciences are designed to prepare students for a wide range of career goals in the biological and medical fields.
Degree Programs
The School of Biological Sciences offers two undergraduate degrees, a BS in Biology and BS in Medical Technology; an interdisciplinary BS degree in Environmental Science is also available. Graduate programs include the MS in Biology and an interdisciplinary MS in Molecular Sciences and Nanotechnology.
Minors
Minors are available in Biology, Medical Technology, Environmental Science, and Geology.
Faculty and Students
The School of Biological Sciences includes a faculty of 23, approximately 550 undergraduate students, and 35 graduate students. Faculty members represent a wide diversity of expertise and research interests. They are student oriented and dedicated to helping students achieve their career goals. |
