We believe the freshman engineering experience at Louisiana Tech University is best in the nation!  All engineering students at Tech take the same freshman classes where they are taught design projects on robotic systems that create an immersive, hands-on experience led by an exceptional group of dedicated faculty.  Consequently, Louisiana Tech engineering and science graduates continue to be in high demand, even in the current economy.

Check out our freshman Living With the Lab integrated engineering curriculum website for information, videos, course and curriculum information and more!  The Integrated Engineering Curriculum website has additional information on the curriculum, along with tutorials and the Freshman webpage is loaded with stuff you will want to know, such as computer requirements, FAQs, and other opportunities for students such as our E&S Plus programs.

The COES offers a unique Living-Learning Community student housing option, designed to create a community of COES majors who can motivate, help and support each other, as well as provide physical space and resources that residents can call their own!  Check it out!

Graduate Programs

In addition to Tech's traditional excellence in undergraduate education, Louisiana Tech is at the forefront of research in the areas of Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Cyber Security, Trenchless Technology, Applied Physics, and Computer Analysis and Modeling.  Tech offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in these areas.  Research faculty are able to offer competitive stipends to highly qualified candidates through federal and state grants.  Tech also offers the Engineering and Technology Management degree which is meant to meet the needs of working professionals in the region (with a number of Shreveport or Web based courses).
