Counseling is provided to parents and families regarding their concerns about speech, language and hearing. Because conditions such as learning disabilities, cleft palate, stroke, and others often co-exist with communication disorders, the clinical staff routinely works with schools, physicians, psychologists, and other health professionals or agencies to design comprehensive treatment programs. Clinical services are provided by graduate student clinicians under the direct supervision of university faculty who are licensed by the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and who hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. |
