About the Honors College
The mission of the Louisiana Tech University Honors College is to enrich students’ university studies through our curriculum, research and service opportunities, fellowships, study abroad programs, and student engagement. Each program within our college is implemented with the core value of self-reflection in mind and supported by the complementary values of integrative learning, global perspective, and antifragility. Our aim is to enhance the Louisiana Tech experience for students in all five academic colleges.
The University Honors Program
A 21-hour curriculum of Honors courses that emphasize our values and are threaded with an ePortfolio students develop over their entire University Honors Program education. Students are admitted to the program upon review of an application submitted during their senior year of high school.

Study Abroad
For students who want to increase their global perspective, study abroad combines classroom instruction with cross-cultural experiences. The Honors College houses faculty-led trips to a variety of locations, offering classes across disciplines
Undergraduate Research and Service Learning
Undergraduate research, creative scholarship, and service learning are high-impact practices that promote integrative learning and help students develop antifragility. The Honors College connects students to opportunities in their discipline both within and outside of the university.
Nationally Competitive Awards
Nationally competitive awards are some of the most prestigious, merit-based scholarships and fellowships awarded to college students in the nation. The Honors College provides students with support and resources to ensure competitive applications to a variety of scholarships and fellowships. In the past, Louisiana Tech has had Truman Scholarship finalists and Goldwater Scholars.
Phi Kappa Phi
One of the oldest and highly respected honor societies in the United States, Phi Kappa Phi is open to students from all academic backgrounds. The Louisiana Tech Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi is open to the top 7 percent of juniors, the top 10 percent of seniors, and faculty and staff.
